Gonna be your man in motion...

"St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)" By John Parr

Referring to my post about the song over here. Well today is the day for the first milestone in my FYP which is the prototype demonstration. As mentioned, graphic designing has never been my strong point. And I have been running away from it for a long time.

And this time while it is not truly graphic design in its true sense, there are enough of it to make me worry. Font type, size and colour, background contrast and even ensuring that font placement and colours do match are just some of the worries I have.

Well I guess it was never about programming as can be seen by how fast I can get something up and running. Looks like I will be spending more time learning graphics programs and theories more than researching the codes for it.

Sounds like a daunting task for Kenneth yes, the old Kenneth that is. But I have grown abit more and I have grown stronger. Even if I have to sit there and do trial and error for the whole day I will. Nothing is going to stop me from doing my best for this FYP.

But of course some of you might be wondering what I am talking about. Well my part of the project is on Captcha. You know that kinda irritating question thing where you have to type in the characters in the image to prove that you are human?

Well these are some samples I am playing with. Still at the background and font colour part. And trust me, coming out with the correct backgrounds to suit the font colour is not easy for me. But I think I am slowly getting there.

Other considerations I have is to make sure the program never run out of unique character combinations which will require some maths involved(thank goodness I did not sleep through all my probabilities lectures). Not forgetting ensuring that I do not leave out those with colour difficulty and ultimately to make sure I do not irritate the user.

The plan is in motion, the gear wheels are turning and now its time to get the job done. For this is one thing I will not back off from. I can do this and I will do this. At the end, no matter what the result is, I will not be faulted for not doing my best. As with everything else I set my mind, heart and soul to do.

And before I end off to get ready for to go to school, seems like someone is gonna go off to watch movie without the rest of us again. Haha but its ok, I guess this is payback for watching the HBO exclusive for Mission Impossible 3 back then. Lols. Anyway finally going to catch Speed Racer later in the evening with friends. From the good reviews from those who have seen it, I am sure looking forward to it.

Cheers,
Kenneth.
