100 caps and the Captain's Armband...

"Capello hands Beckham back captain's armband" and "Beckham back as England skipper" are some of the headlines in soccer websites as England coach gives the captain's armband back to David Beckham.

Of course I can hear some people moaning away with disapproval of the player just as how they did when Beckham got dropped from the England squad and the Real Madrid squad.

But in the end he did silenced his critics and bounced back better than before. And now just after been given an award by Sir Bobby Charlton before Wednesday's home clash with the USA after clocking up 100 caps for his country, he wears the captian's armband again.

While I do not know if the armband is given to him with any other political motivation, I do know that at the age of 33, he is still going strong and deadly with set pieces as seen in the recent match against the USA.

As one fan puts it, "no one has more passion for his country than this guy... Every time he gets knocked down he comes back better than ever and does it with a level of grace you just don't see in football these days."

Just goes to show that you can never keep a good man down as long as he has the heart and the passion to continue moving forward. And to Bentley, try harder next time. Yes you may have the skills and the pace and the youth in you to maybe be worthy of the number 7 jersey, but you will never have the passion and the class to truly replace Beckham.

Cheers,
Kenneth.

*Yes I think you can tell I dun really like Bentley. Well I had nothing against him until he started playing punk and did not even show up for the under 21s. The excuse given was one which shows how much passion he has. Sheesh... no wonder he got booed when he came on pitch.*
