Dinner At Sakura

Was suppose to let a friend know how Sakura is like after my dinner outing last night but I decided that since a picture paints a thousand words, a blog post on it would be better.

As I am one who doesn't frequent Toa Payoh much, asking me to find the place was like throwing me back into the sispec jungle back in Tekong with no map. Something told me I would not be the only one and I decided to post in the forums about meeting up at the MRT Station Control first before finding the place together.

At first it was just the usual friends I known in person who "signed up" to meet up first. Then the list grew and in the end I had 10 of them meeting up first. My friend joked that even in my "break" period, my reputation still is there and people have no problems coming forward to say hi and meeting up even though I was a complete stranger to them.

Took us a while to find the place and I was joined by more friends there. It was a good break for me from everything else. The jokes, the laughter and most importantly everyone was chit chatting around like old friends. You could sense the sincerity and openness in everyone, something I do miss from my I-Guides days.

And on to the food, well I must say its nothing great to boast about but at the price per person and for the fact its a buffet, for the simple people like us, well we got no complains.


I went straight for the sushi and sashimi section on my first trip to the food area.


While my friend decided that fried stuff is on top of his list.

The goodie bags. I think some of the other patrons there must have thought Acryan was having a company function there. Must suggest to the company to make smaller bags next time. Looks like the sort you would find at the Great Singapore Sale.


Lucky Draw Prizes which I won a cap. Focus was off on purpose so that the names on the cards cannot be seen easily.


Everyone satisfied with dinner and waiting for the organinser to close the gathering.

Overall it was a good outing to get a chance to meet the people on the forums and finally put a face behind the forum nick. Its also good to know that we can talk about other things than just computer hardware.

Well thats it form me today. Gonna do some self reflection about everything today. And of cos go for my jog later in the evening to compensate for all those food I had yesterday. Wanted to go for a morning jog but decided to sleep in today. Maybe catch the soccer match later in the evening or something as well.

Iron Man is up tomorrow as well and I looking forward to meet up with everyone again.
